Chart Placeholder Generator
Generate bar, line, pie, and donut chart placeholder images, served live from a URL — no charting library required.

Dashboards and reports read very differently once their charts are full of realistic-looking data instead of blank boxes. Dropping in a quick placeholder chart lets you check card sizing, grid layout, and color contrast before a real charting library or dataset is wired up.
Choosing a chart type
- Bar — great for comparing discrete categories.
- Line — reads as a trend or time series at a glance.
- Pie / Donut — a quick stand-in for proportion or breakdown widgets.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the chart data come from?
Each chart is an SVG rendered on the fly by our own /api/chart endpoint. The data is pseudo-random but deterministic — a given seed, type, and point count always render the same chart.
How do I get different data without changing the layout?
Click "Randomize data" — it swaps in a new seed while keeping your chart type, size, and palette, so you can preview several data shapes quickly.
Can I set my own axis labels?
Yes, for bar and line charts — enter a comma-separated list and it's used in place of the default A, B, C… labels.
Can I use this chart image in production?
It's meant for mockups, dashboards-in-progress, and layout testing rather than real reporting — swap in an actual charting library once real data is available.
