About Dummy Content

A small, focused toolkit that does one job well: giving developers and designers realistic content to build and test with.

Every project starts the same way: a blank page that needs filling before you can tell whether a design actually works. Real copy isn't ready yet, the CMS is empty, and your test database has three rows in it. Dummy Content exists to close that gap in seconds — with text, markup, ads, images, and structured data that feel close enough to the real thing to stress-test a layout properly.

Why we built it

Most placeholder generators do one thing — usually Lorem Ipsum — and stop there. In practice, a single project needs several kinds of filler: paragraph text for a blog layout, a believable user table for a dashboard, a sample banner ad to check how a sidebar behaves, a dozen product cards for a storefront grid. We wanted one tool that covered the whole list, with consistent, professional output every time.

How it's built

Dummy Content runs on Next.js and React, with a Node.js backend for the data-generation API routes, styled with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui components. Every route is server-rendered for fast loads and good SEO, with no database and no account system required to run it.

A note on the data

Every name, email, address, phone number, and card number produced by this site is synthetically generated and fictional. Test card numbers use well-known, publicly documented values reserved for development use — never real payment data. If any generated content happens to resemble a real person or business, that's coincidental.
